I had been at Q104.3 for just days shy of two years and we were already getting our third Program Director.
Bob Buchmann had been a fixture on Long Island radio for 17 years and the new management decided to bring him slightly west (Bob would later go farther west, all the way to LA and now is living it up in San Diego).
Bob not only came in as the PD, he was also going to be the new morning guy.
As a stunt to “cleanse the palate” from the legendary Dano Neer, we had a week’s worth of special guest hosts, while Bob and Producer Shawn Kelly took back seats.
The week of stunting started with Styx sitting in and kicking off the new $10,000 Workforce Contest by playing a special version of “Blue Collar Man.” That recording was one of the first .MP3s posted by a radio station, to the internet.
Shot on a wicked bad Sony Camera.
